We decided if we were to set up a business, it had to be one that was about far more than profit. We had to be an ethical and sustainable company, grounded in community, producing great food at a fair price. Our mission was to make the business one that contributed positively to the planet and its people. rePurpose enables us to complete the circle.
How It Works
1. Measure
Hard Bar donates a percentage of every product purchase to fund the collection of 50 kgs of low-value plastic waste from oceans and landfills every year.
2. Compensate
Low-value plastic is collected, processed, and reused by Waste Ventures India - a waste management enterprise that employs and empowers waste pickers to tackle plastic waste.
3. Reduce
Hard Bar will work with rePurpose Global to reduce the future use of virgin plastics in their products and build a more circular business and delivery model for their company.

Hard Bar's Sustainability Journey
Sustainable Sourcing
Hard Bar started working with a small team of athletes and independent retailers. From day one they used exclusively organic ingredients, sourced ethically from farming co-operatives who share their values. In year two, they started planting a tree for EVERY bar sold. Now, they also remove twice as much plastic from the environment as they produce.

Hard Bar is proud of the positive impact each Hard Bar has now – but know that this is only the start. Contributing positively to the planet’s biodiversity, soil, and air health as well as the well being of all its people is a never-ending and rewarding mission.
